PSA’s Certification Program Receives International Recognition

PSA’s Certified Appliance Professional (CAP) program has received notification that it has been accredited by the International Certification Accreditation Council, (ICAC) in accordance with the International Standards Organization’s ISO 17024 certification standards.  Over 150 countries around the world recognize these standards and PSA is the first major appliance based certification program to have achieved this prestigious recognition.

PSA’s technician (Mcap) and service management (CSM) certification programs have been the standard for the U.S. appliance service industry since its inception in 1995. The program has been refined and further developed to include not only technicians in the field but it is now offered in many of the vocational schools around the country offering appliance technology programs as a exit exam with students being certified by PSA as Graduate Technicians.

The certification program has been a labor of love for the many volunteer committee members who identify the technology and develop the questions to be included in the question pool and annually review the process to insure that items included are up to date with current products in the field. This insures that certified technicians and service managers have the skills necessary to perform at a high level of efficiency in order to be productive from the very start of their employment.

Today’s consumer demands high quality in the level of service they receive in support of their home appliance products. One sure way to prove your skills is become certified as a Master Technician and when you wear the Master Technician patch on your uniform you are proving that you are one of the best that our industry has to offer and you have been certified by an organization of your peers.

Certified technicians and managers wear their certification credentials with pride and so they should. It takes hundreds of hours of training to achieve this status and in order to keep it you must re-certify every four years in order to prove that you are keeping up with the latest developing technology.

If you are not yet a Certified Appliance Professional, you should contact PSA today to find out how you can also become one of the industry’s proven best. After all, your customers deserve the very best our industry has to offer and that person should be you.
